snapshot of sally
Sally began her career in front of the camera, working as an actor on stage and television, before transitioning behind the lens to establish herself as a sought-after unit stills, key art, and portrait photographer. Her unique perspective — shaped by her early performance experience—gives her a rare ability to connect with cast members and capture storytelling moments with empathy.
Her photography work in TV and film spans a diverse range of high-profile projects. She’s journeyed through different lives in period drama Life After Life (dir. John Crowley), starring Thomasin McKenzie, stepped into the tardis to document David Tennant’s return to Doctor Who, hung out in the ‘80s with Huge Bonneville and Jack Lowden in Neil Forsythe’s The Gold and been banged up in prison with Bella Ramsey, Jodie Whittaker and Tamara Lawrence in Time.
Her collaborative approach is grounded in her love for set life and her deep understanding of narrative and visual storytelling. Working closely with directors, DOPs, and creative teams, Sally ensures her images not only reflect the vision of the production but also enrich its promotional and artistic presence. Her longstanding relationships with many actors formed during her acting days or built through multiple shoots, help foster a comfortable and productive environment on and off set.
Sally also enjoys being in the studio where she can enjoy more creative control, working collaboratively with publicity teams to achieve arresting key art. Here here work includes The Gold, Douglas is Cancelled, Time, The Suspect, Grace, Arthur’s Whiskey.
Recent work includes War (Sky TV), The Forsyte Saga (Mammoth/Channel 5) Outrageous for UKTV, Grace for ITV, Legends for Netflix).
Sally was born in Belfast and is now based in London but happy to travel anywhere. She has both Irish and British citizenship.
